KATARZYNA MARCISZ


Research interests


I am interested in ecology and palaeoecology of wetlands. I work on testate amoebae – a group of free-living protozoa that is abundant in peatlands and used as hydrological indicators. I use experimental, seasonal and palaeoecological interdisciplinary approach to understand  testate amoebae short- and long-term ecology, specifically their response to climate change and human disturbances. In my research, I would like to explore how fire activity and drought influence peatland hydrology and testate amoeba communities.
